Pursue Your Pivot: Waiting Is Not A Strategy

A word …

I just wanted to take a moment to send everyone love and light. I thought Mercury was out of Retrograde, but life is really showing her whole @$$ out here for a lot of folks, myself included, with Mother’s Day (hence no newsletter last week). I know it is easier said than done, but please stay encouraged and know you are seen, heard, and loved!

If you are NOT in survival mode (because nothing else matters at that point), hopefully, amid the chaos, you will find clarity about moving forward.

Create movement. Don’t be a monument. Let’s not stand still and wait …

You hear people talk about strategy all the time, whether at your company, in your business, or at a conference. However, one strategy you won't hear people recommend is waiting to pursue your dreams. Now is the time to pursue your pivot.

Time and timing are always factors when it comes to making big life decisions, rightfully so, but what happens when your "perfect" timing never pushes you to move on with your plans, hopes, and desires?

Do you just wait?

If so, how long do you wait?

The hard truth is that time is moving fast, and let's be honest, there's never a perfect time to do most things, as careers, family, health, etc., can continuously plant seeds of hesitation that cause you to … wait … and wait … and wait. Should you wait until things settle down at work? Or maybe after the kids are older? Or, if you're like me, are you waiting for an epiphany to give you the green light?

We have all had to make decisions when the timing seemed less than ideal. Hopefully, the timing worked out despite whatever roadblocks there were and gave you a sense of optimism about taking that unknown route again. If things didn't work out, you are still here and able to make new decisions and plans. Amen, someone …

Let's take a moment to visualize. Close your eyes if you need to and picture your life a year, two years …, or five years from now. Will you be happy if you stayed on your current path? Will you feel fulfilled? Or will you be stuck in the same rut, wondering what could have been? If what you visualize doesn't excite you, it's time to rethink your waiting strategy.

So, now that we've established that waiting is not a strategy, what is your actionable plan for your pivot? How can your community help you with this strategy?

Don't forget that I'm here for you too! Whether offering advice, sharing resources, or simply cheering you on from the sidelines, I'm committed to helping you succeed. Your pivot is worth pursuing, your dreams are worth living, and there's no better time than now to put a plan in motion.

I'm on this pivot journey with you, so let's embrace the uncertainty, the challenges, and the excitement and make it happen together. No more waiting! Your future self will thank you.

… And now a word from Arlan Hamilton … I met her at SXSW! I’m going to recap that amazing trip in one of these editions, lol. Stay tuned!

Parting Thoughts …
